The Public Rights Project is are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the gap between the values expressed in our laws and the lived reality of our most vulnerable communities. We empower state, local, and tribal governments to protect the core rights and freedoms that define us as Americans by providing them with talent and resources to more proactively enforce their residents’ legal rights.

We are currently searching for applicants for the 2021-23 Public Rights Project Fellowship, a two year program for early- to mid-career level attorneys interested in public service and affirmative litigation. Fellows have the opportunity to be placed in one of eight local and state government offices across the country.
